Ovens

An oven is a kitchen appliance which can be used for baking, roasting or drying. Usually, ovens are used in cooking or pottery. Some ovens use gas for heat whereas others will use electricity as their power source. Ovens in pottery are more often known as kilns. If the oven is large and used in a commercial or industrial manner, the over will be known as a furnace.

There are many oven manufacturers in the World, and each produces a range of ovens with different fronts, colours and price ranges. There are also special ovens you can buy such as Agas, which are large ovens which don’t have as much temperature control as smaller ovens and are popular in country houses. Ovens are often sold along with cooker units, although ovens can be sold as a solo unit without the cooker. Many ovens have silver or white fronts so that they match the rest of the appliances in the kitchen.

When buying an oven, it is usually best not to buy the cheapest one available, and also to look for a well-known brand name as this way, you will probaby get the best deal for your money and get an oven which will last you years to come.
