A dishwasher can either refer to a person or a machine that washes dishes. A dishwasher in the person sense is normally only used in restaurants and cafes. Machine dishwashers are fairly common place in the home. They come in a range of sizes, brands and colours so that the consumer has a wide choice and one will fit in practically any kitchen. Dishwashers ensure that all that they wash are hygenic and clean - something which you cannot guarantee when handwashing plates etc, however dishwashers use a lot more water than hand washing therefore aren’t as good for the environment.
