iPod is a product made by Apple. An iPod is a small digital audio player where the user can download media onto the device and then use the device when on the move. The device is usually used for media such as movies, pictures and music.
The higher-end models of iPod store the media on a built-in hard drive; The lower-end iPod models (such as the iPod shuffle) rely on flash memory to store the media. Hard-drive memory is considered more resilient and a better choice for long term storage than flash memory.
iPods are one of the most popular audio devices currently on the market, although there are a wealth of similar products to the iPod available - from big names such as Creative, Sony and iRiver, right through to smaller names and shop-own-brand players.
