Limousines are sometimes known as limos. Limousines are unusually long cars. Traditionally, limos have been luxury cars in black and white, although pink is also another common colour. Most limousines are driven by chauffeurs.

Limousines are used for a variety of purposes - most commonly they are used as an alternative to a taxi service for large groups of people who are partying. A lot of stag and hen nights use limos as their form of transport, and limousines are also often seen as transportation for the bride and groom to their weddings.

Although limousines were traditionally sedan cars, there has been a trend for more unlikely limousine types recently, including a Hummer H2 (humvee) limousine, Jaguar XJ limo and Lada limousine taxi.
